layas

Tongek. Ako yun. I was working on this post which I stored on Pink 5 which I accidentally transferred to the PC at home when I was transferring files last night.

= ooo =
Sunday morning found me on my way to some resort in Taytay, Rizal with five others from the office. For some reason, I can’t make up my mind whether to go with them or not and when I finally decided to just stay home that Sunday because (1) it’s Mother’s Day, (2) I haven't asked permission from the 'rents that I'm going out that Sunday, (3) I woke up late, (4) it’s been raining like mad thanks to Caloy, (5) tinatamad lang ako for no reason at all (hehehe) and told Alex that I’ll just have pass this time, Ruth calls to tell me that they’re on their way to my house and orders me to pack my stuff and get dressed. I really have to hand it to this girl. Kebs n’ya kung may muta ka pa, bagong gising at ‘di pa naliligo. Kahit si Daddy at si Mommy mukhang na-pressure n’ya na pasamahin ako. At buti na lang nama-manipulate ako ni Ruthie. (Not that I'm very hard to sway, just mention the words "beach," "pool," "swimming," or "sun," obviously.)
Outside our cabana with the mandatory Kimchi-pose and the pool which made me question my real height. (Photos c/o Alex)
What started out to be like a grand opis excursion of sorts came down to six people who seemed desperate for a swim--huling hirit sa tag-init. Survey, survey pala ha. Haha.
And then there were six. Ü (And this picture looks so '80s. Kailangan talaga nakahawak sa gilid ng pool.)
We had no reservations and the resort's cabanas were all either occupied or reserved. Screw company outings and reunions! Added to that, the very smart person at the resort's ticket booth didn't even bother to tell us that there weren't any more vacant cabanas. Good thing another staff pointed out this obscure, still unoccupied cabana not far from one of the bigger pools. Medyo mukha kaming kawawa pero sa amin na yung "shelter" na yun, so ayos na. The day turned out to be so much fun--and hassle-free--anyway.
Tatlong bagay lang naman ang kailangan mong gawin pag summer: mag-swim, kumain at mag-tong-its. Ay, saka magpaka-camwhore. So apat pala yun.
Not counting going to gigs, first time ko 'tong Sunday makasama sila nang wala sa Manila at malayo sa office. (Well, those trips to Paete, Angono and Baguio with Ruthie were all for work.) And I have to say, ang saya! We were probably an odd mix but it was a fun and crazy one as well. And I say this with all my heart! Walang halong bola, promise. It's just that I was always hesitant to form bonds with the people I work with, pointing out that I'm very much happy with my set of friends outside the office and that I'd rather not be part of all the office intrigahan and tsismisan and kampihan that, I noticed, comes with having friends in the office. Now I sort of regret not going out and spending time with these people more often. O s'ya, tama na, ang corny-corny ko na.
= ooo =
Pahabol sa sulat: found this one last week while killing time. Interesting. That explains the hordes of sunbathers the world over, skin cancer or not. So that explains, too, why I probably still haven't resorted to any other harmful thing this past few months. Hahaha.
